The Yellow Bourbon is a smooth and well round coffee, well-liked by amateurs for its sweetness and its delicacy. Its notes of fresh almond, honey and acacia give to the coffee an easy and soft taste.
The Yellow Bourbon is one of the seven varieties that Henrique Sloper, member of Return to Terroir, grows in his plantation in Espirito Santo located in the South East of Brazil inside the preserved region of Pedra Azul. The plantation rolls over 370 acres of hills and woods and is organized in plots of single bean varieties.
In Brazil, the first producer of coffee in the world, only few plantations are bio-dynamic, fewer still are of real quality. Camocim, known worldwide for its Jacu Bird, is the spearhead of this movement. The Yellow Bourbon is one of the seven varieties of yellow fruits coffee cultivated by Camocim, such as the Caturra and the Icatu.
