The Lacu is a possum that lives freely on three organic plantations in the Ermera, Mau-Besse and Turiscai mountains, in East Timor. This animal is fond of the best beans, the ones at ideal maturity which are the sweetest. The stool is picked and washed by hand in the plantation located up to 1 500 meters of altitude. In addition, the Lacu Ten is certified as organic and is available in Robusta and Arabica.
This coffee is extremely rare as the production varies depending on the year between 150 and 300 kilos. Handpicked, the coffee beans are then treated one by one: this is what gives them their shining aspect.
