A forgotten species

Amongst the three species of coffee cultivated and drank throughout the world (Arabica, Robusta and Liberica), one of them is at a threat of disappearing. The first alternative to arabica, it was once cultivated from the african equatorial belt to India, and is now all but forgotten. Liberica coffee trees are the highest and largest of all coffee plants, and its cherries, the size of an apricot, need to be processed by hand.

A Craftsman coffee

It is often forgotten, but before being a master of cocoa, Claudio has also been an exceptional coffee grower for more than thirty years. Perched at the top of the small island of Principe, Claudio’s plantation mixes coffee trees with cocoa plants. Everything here is lead by the principles of a natural and gentle agriculture.

A new horizon in taste

Trying Liberica is like opening a new door, discovering a new organoleptic world, dominated by powerful and tertiary aromas: woodland, ceddar, leather and earth mix with red berries and rhubarb. Magical combinations to discover and and why not associate in cooking.
