Gilles Pudlowski, founder and owner of the eponymous Gastronomic Guide, is one of the central figures of French gastronomy. For decades, he has tirelessly roamed the country's restaurants, and is famous for his frankness and outspokenness.
With the 2018 edition, he bestows us with two honors. First, by creating this year the title of Best Roaster. It is rare and unheard of for a guide or even a food media, considering the importance of sponsoring from industrial coffee brands. By doing this, Gilles Pudlowski puts the focus back on quality coffee and reminds us all of its fundamental importance at the end of a meal !
The second honor is of course to reward L’Arbre à Café with this first Roaster of the Year award.
His reasons are engaging and relevant: for years, every time he was taken with emotion, struck with truth, he had ended his meal with a coffee from L’Arbre à Café. Cook of the year, Christophe Pelé, chef ** at the Clarence, is partly responsible for this, since we have had the honor of supplying him for close to ten years.
Finally, Gilles Pudlowski highlights the work of a whole team of passionate individuals, driven daily by values of high standard, precision, and transmission. What brings us together is without doubt what Gilles Pudlowski has put to light: the awareness of being part of a system of values, a chain of quality that with l’Arbre à Café starts truly at the farm with our producers and ends with chefs and food craftsmen.
Pudlo celebrates both coffee and the spirit of New French Art of Coffee that has been promoted by L’Arbre à Café for the last 9 years with our fine coffees, made for chefs and restaurants, and demanding palates.
